Job summary

Hawthorne Cat in Hawaii (Hilo) is seeking a Tech 1 to repair, maintain and rebuild equipment in the service shop or at client sites, under the direction of the Branch Operations Manager to achieve HPC standards.

This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, PC skills, forklift certification (or ability to certify within 60 days), and owning hand tools. 5+ years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
• Must have PC skills.
• Must be forklift certified or able to be certified within 60 days.
• Must own hand tools that are suitable to perform the work noted above.
• At least 5 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoots mechanical problems in Caterpillar, allied products, and Ag & Turf and industrial products serviced by the service department.
• Makes warranty recommendations and prepares reports when performing warranty service jobs.
• Performs minor welding, fabrication, plumbing, and D.C. electric repairs.
• Attends training classes as directed and obtains passing grades.
• Reconditions or overhauls major components to manufacturer’s specifications.
