Job summary

Avantor is seeking an Associate Counsel to join the Technology and Indirect Sourcing legal team. You will support licensing and technology vendor agreements across Avantor’s enterprise, working closely with IT, Privacy, Sourcing and Sales teams to enable cloud-based solutions.

The ideal candidate has JD, US bar admission, 5–10 years’ experience, and the ability to translate technical concepts into practical legal guidance for cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• JD required from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the bar of at least one US State or the District of Columbia.
• Meets local legal license requirements.
• 5–10 years of applicable professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Experience translating technical concepts into practical legal guidance.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and revise IT and vendor agreements.
• Advise on complex IT vendor agreements and digital product contracting.
• Develop playbooks and templates for consistent legal review.
• Review data processing agreements.
• Coordinate contract negotiations with cross-departmental teams.
• Ensure alignment with IT and business strategies.
