Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Senior Product Manager to own direction for Scale & Reliability and Platform Engineering. You will treat platform and infrastructure as a product, balancing velocity, cost, and resilience, and partner with senior engineers to turn strategy into a delivered roadmap.

You will define how internal developers experience the platform, measure outcomes, and ensure multi-team programs stay on track from scoping through launch.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in product management, including technical/platform exposure.
• Technical fluency in distributed systems.
• Experience with Service Level Objective frameworks, on-call, and incident management.
• A platform-as-a-product mindset: internal developers are customers.
• Strong partnership with staff/principal engineers and engineering leaders.
• Data-driven and outcome-oriented.
• High ownership mentality.

Responsibilities

• Own the business case for Platform — represent priorities to executives and align roadmap with measurable outcomes.
• Own reliability as a product discipline — define SLAs and improve observability to reduce incidents.
• Build for the future — capacity planning ahead of growth and incident management.
• Set the internal developer platform roadmap — pave paths, shared services, self-serve tooling.
• Hold the line on real-time performance — latency and media quality as core metrics.
• Steer on the metrics that matter — uptime, latency, adoption, unit cost with data-driven decisions.
• Run intake and prioritization of the Platform backlog with engineering leads.
• Surface risks early and drive resolution with leadership.
