Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Tech Lead Manager for the Lakebase group. You will guide a small team of engineers, drive architecture, and contribute code while enabling the team to deliver high-quality, scalable data infrastructure.

You will balance hands-on development with people leadership, mentor engineers, and align with cross‑functional partners to achieve strategic outcomes across Lakebase services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience with hands-on software development.
• Experience as tech lead or senior engineer with end-to-end project ownership.
• Strong depth in designing large-scale distributed services and systems.
• Proven ability to lead and grow engineers; people management or tech lead experience.
• Ability to align multiple stakeholders on competing priorities and roadmaps.
• BS (or higher) in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of engineers, owning execution and on-time delivery.
• Stay hands-on: drive architecture, design, and coding on complex projects.
• Set and uphold high technical standards through reviews, testing, and engineering excellence.
• Grow your engineers with clear feedback and career development.
• Coordinate with partner teams to unblock cross-cutting projects across Lakebase.
• Partner with engineering and product leadership to shape a long-term roadmap.
