Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Technical Lead for the Lakebase Manager (LBM) team to drive the central control plane, database lifecycle, and reliability at scale. This hands-on IC will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product leadership on a long-term technical roadmap.

Qualifications

8+ years designing, building and operating large-scale distributed systems with testing and monitoring.
Proven technical leadership as an individual contributor guiding architecture and delivery.
Hands-on ability to design systems, write production code, and deep-dive on architecture.
Experience operating reliability-critical services with on-call and incident response.
Ability to align stakeholders on competing priorities and long-term roadmaps.
Motivated by delivering customer value and impact.

Responsibilities

Set the technical direction for LBM and own the reliability of team deliverables.
Drive architecture and design, and write code on the hardest parts of projects.
Maintain high standards via architecture reviews, testing, and code reviews.
Mentor engineers and grow distributed-systems and design skills.
Define SLIs, meet SLOs, and improve database lifecycle reliability.
Lead cross-team initiatives across the Lakebase stack.
Partner with leadership to shape and deliver a long-term technical roadmap.
