Job summary

Request Technology, LLC is seeking a Tech-Lead for End User Experience/Desktop Engineering in Chicago, IL. This role focuses on leading desktop engineering initiatives and delivering enterprise-scale solutions.

You will oversee packaging, VDI deployments with Horizon/Citrix, and automation via PowerShell and scripting. Hybrid work arrangement is available, with onsite and remote options.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in desktop engineering or end-user computing roles.
• Experience deploying applications across enterprise desktop workstations using modern tools.
• VDI (primary focus): VMware Horizon background strongly preferred; Citrix or other VDI experience is acceptable.
• PowerShell is required. Python scripting is a plus. Git preferred.
• Endpoint management and virtualization: Strong troubleshooting skills; "Jack of many trades" profile.
• Packaging: Application packaging knowledge is a plus (Omnissa/VMware Horizon framework preferred).
• Desktop Application Troubleshooting.
• Experience operating in a DevOps culture. Terraform nice to have
• Must have enterprise-level experience with change management, peer review, and approval processes
• Experience supporting a minimum environment size of 750 endpoints

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engineering solutions for the desktop environment.
• Lead and manage technical projects from conception to completion.
• Packages application deployments for end-user environment using VMware AppStacks and similar technologies.
• Create technical specifications and architectural designs for complex solutions.
• Establish technical standards, best practices, and design patterns for the team.
• Troubleshoots application installation, performance, and runtime issues within the desktop environments.
• Maintain and oversee Operating System base builds to include feature updates, software updates, and/or vulnerability remediation.
• Meet with Business, IT and Security Leaders to develop requirements and communicate changes to the environment
