Job summary

Apollo Solutions, a Boston-based investment firm, is seeking a Senior Desktop Engineer to join the infrastructure team. This hands-on role focuses on modernizing the end-user technology environment, including endpoint management, VDI, automation, and identity using Microsoft technologies.

You will own technical projects, build PowerShell automation, and collaborate with security, infrastructure, and support teams to enhance device provisioning, deployment, patching, and endpoint security.

Qualifications

• - Hands on experience in desktop, endpoint or end-user computing.
• - Experience with Microsoft Intune.
• - Knowledge of Entra ID and Microsoft identity technologies.
• - Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• - Experience with VDI or virtual desktop technologies.
• - Experience with VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop or similar.
• - Exposure to Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure.
• - Understanding of Windows endpoint management, deployment, patching, security.
• - Experience in large or technically complex environments.
• - Strong troubleshooting and ownership of problems.

Boston, Massachusetts - 1/2 days in office

We are working with a leading investment firm in Boston that is looking to add a Senior Desktop Engineer to its infrastructure team.

This is a hands on engineering role focused on improving and modernizing the firm's end user technology environment. You will work across endpoint management, virtual desktops, automation, identity and Microsoft technologies, while helping improve the way technology is delivered to users across the business.

The team is looking for someone who can take ownership of technical projects, solve complex problems and identify opportunities to automate and improve the existing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Engineer and improve the firm's Windows desktop and endpoint environment.
• Manage devices and policies through Microsoft Intune.
• Work with Entra ID across identity, access and device management.
• Support and develop the firm's VDI environment.
• Build PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve existing processes.
• Improve device provisioning, software deployment, patching and endpoint lifecycle management.
• Work with Azure and other cloud technologies supporting the end user environment.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across Windows, identity, VDI and endpoint technologies.
• Work closely with infrastructure, security and support teams on wider technology projects.
• Help improve endpoint security, compliance and information protection.
• Contribute to future desktop and workplace technology projects across the firm.

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience working in desktop, endpoint or end user computing engineering.
• Hands on experience with Microsoft Intune.
• Good knowledge of Entra ID and Microsoft identity technologies.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Experience working with VDI or virtual desktop technologies.
• Experience with VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop or similar platforms.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure and cloud based infrastructure.
• Good understanding of Windows endpoint management, application deployment, patching and device security.
• Experience working in a large or technically complex environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to take ownership of technical problems.
