Job summary

The Judge Group partners with a leading financial services organization in Chicago seeking an End User Computing (EUC) Engineer to drive strategy, architecture, and modernization of the enterprise desktop environment. You will collaborate with business, IT and security leaders on Windows, VDI, M365, application delivery and end-user technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent IT experience.
• 5+ years in Desktop Engineering or End User Computing roles.
• Experience deploying applications across large desktop estates.
• Hands-on endpoint administration and desktop management experience.
• 3+ years with Microsoft 365 environments.

We're partnering with a leading financial services organization in Chicago that is seeking an End User Computing (EUC) Engineer to drive the strategy, architecture, engineering, and modernization of its enterprise desktop environment.

This is a highly visible role where you'll partner with business, IT, and security leaders to deliver innovative solutions across Windows, virtual desktop infrastructure, Microsoft 365, application delivery, automation, and end-user technologies.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement enterprise desktop engineering solutions and EUC architecture.
• Lead technical projects from concept through implementation and support.
• Architect and manage application delivery using technologies such as VMware AppStacks, application layering, and modern endpoint management tools.
• Develop technical standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Manage and maintain Windows operating system base images, updates, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
• Support and optimize virtual desktop platforms while preserving user profiles and settings.
• Troubleshoot complex desktop, application, and Microsoft 365 issues across enterprise environments.
• Drive automation initiatives using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or similar technologies.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic improvements.
• Serve as the highest-level escalation point for desktop engineering issues.
• Partner with business, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and leadership teams to define requirements and improve the end-user experience.
• Mentor desktop engineering team members and provide technical leadership.
• Provide both tactical and strategic input into the future state of end-user computing.
• Participate in on-call support rotations as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Desktop Engineering, End User Computing, or related infrastructure roles.
• Experience deploying and managing applications across large desktop estates.
• Hands-on experience with desktop management and endpoint administration platforms.
• 3+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 (O365) environments.
• Advanced desktop and application troubleshooting expertise.
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Demonstrated expertise in desktop architecture, design, and engineering.
• Experience working within a DevOps-oriented environment.
• Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, and governance practices.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, identify risks, and drive solutions.

• MCSE
• Windows Virtual Desktop Specialty
• VMware certifications including:
• VMware Certified Professional - Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM)
