Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen LLP) is seeking a Controller with Technology Industry experience to join our Client Accounting & Advisory Services practice. In this role, you will oversee GAAP compliance, internal controls, budgeting, and financial reporting for technology clients, guiding executives on financial objectives and KPIs.

You will mentor accounting staff, coordinate financial planning, and communicate with boards and clients to support sound decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7 years of relevant experience as a Controller or equivalent.
• Accounting back-office experience required.
• Technology industry experience highly preferred; public accounting experience welcome.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Travel: in-office with local travel to client sites; occasional non-local travel possible.

Responsibilities

• Develop full knowledge of GAAP (FASB/SFAS) and financials for technology clients.
• Establish internal control policies and procedures for budgeting, cash, and accounting.
• Coordinate financial planning, budgeting, procurements, and investments.
• Prepare financial information and statements; assist regulatory reporting.
• Produce business activity reports and forecasts; manage KPI tracking.
• Evaluate procurement needs and investment surpluses; provide recommendations.
• Supervise accounting staff and assess performance; implement improvements.
• Advise management on financial objectives, policies, and actions.
• Communicate with boards, bankers, and investors; support board presentations.
