Job summary

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing Services is assisting a leading private equity backed software firm in Northern VA with a Senior Analyst or Manager level FP&A role focused on technology. You will partner with: CPO, CTO, and CISO to turn tech investments into ROI-driven decisions and drive cost optimization.

In a hands-on role, you will build build-vs-buy cases, inform roadmap prioritization, and manage cloud/infrastructure costs, headcount efficiency, and quarterly financials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 4+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or a similar analytical role with tech, R&D, or product finance focus.
• Strong financial modeling and Excel skills; proven ability to build business cases (TCO, NPV, payback, sensitivity).
• General understanding of software cost capitalization (ASC 350-40 / 985-20) and opex vs. capex treatment.
• Ability to translate technical roadmaps and infrastructure decisions into financial terms and partner with senior tech leaders.

Responsibilities

• Build vs. buy financial models to compare in-house vs SaaS options (OC, NPV, payback).
• Identify and quantify savings across cloud, vendor/SaaS, and tooling spend.
• Attach cost/ROI to roadmap initiatives with Product and Engineering partners.
• Plan headcount and contractor spend; analyze productivity and organizational efficiency.
• Own Opex & Capex forecasting for Product, Engineering, Security, IT (including CAPEX software).
• Model cloud/hosting costs; collaborate with Engineering on unit cost and efficiency metrics.
• Maintain the technology vendor and SaaS portfolio; support renewals and negotiations.
• Deliver monthly technology variance and provide leadership with robust commentary.
