Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA, is seeking an ER Technician to support the Emergency Department under the direction of a registered nurse. You will administer patient care and help manage patient flow in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements include one year acute care experience preferred, high school diploma, BLS, CPI within 30 days, and appropriate CA certifications or RN coursework. This role offers a challenging environment with competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities

Qualifications

• One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
• Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer patient care to designated patients under the direction of a registered nurse and physician.
• Follow the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, addressing age and clinical diagnosis.
• Maintain smooth patient flow by performing direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department.
• Provide specialized emergency care for patients from infancy through geriatric.

Education

Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the ER Technician is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow. The E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.

Qualifications
