Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA, is seeking an ER Technician to assist in the Emergency Department under RN supervision. You will administer patient care, follow the plan of care, and assist with patient flow for all ages.

Requirements include one year of acute care experience, High School diploma, Basic Life Support, CPI, EMT/CNA/MA or RN student, and dysrhythmia certification. This position offers competitive pay and benefits within the UHS family.

Qualifications

  • One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association.
  • CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
  • CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- RN student with 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
  • Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician.
  • Manage the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis.
  • Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • ER Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for patients from infancy through geriatric.

Education

Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the ER Technician is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow. The E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.
