Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking an ER Technician in Palmdale, CA.

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services, you will provide patient care under the direction of a registered nurse and assist with the plan of care for patients across age groups in the ED. The role requires BLS certification, CPI within 30 days, and CA EMT/CNA/Medical Assistant credentials or RN program enrollment with clinical coursework.

Qualifications

• One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• CPI certification required within 30 days of hire.
• CA EMT, CNA, or Medical Assistant required – or currently enrolled in an RN program with successful completion of two semesters of clinical coursework.
• Basic dysrhythmia certification required or to be obtained within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer patient care to designated patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Follow the plan of care set by the RN and/or physician, addressing age- and diagnosis-based needs.
• Manage direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Utilize emergency care skills for patients from infancy through geriatric age.

Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services, the ER Technician is responsible for administering patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Following the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, the technician manages the individual needs of the patient with regard to age and clinical diagnosis. The ER Technician performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department to ensure smooth patient flow. The technician possesses specialized skills and knowledge in emergency care for patients from infancy through geriatric age.
