Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Manager-level professional for its Private Equity Performance Improvement practice in Los Angeles. You will conduct software product and tech due diligence for PE clients, assess architecture and IP, and communicate insights through client-ready deliverables.

Responsibilities include engaging with targets and clients, managing data requests, and mentoring junior staff. The role requires 5–8 years in consulting with PE or tech diligence, and travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of consulting or relevant industry experience, focused on tech/consulting or PM
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for executive deliverables
• Experience with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or due diligence (desired)
• Background in software/product development or advisory from top-tier firms
• Bachelor’s degree in a highly analytical field
• Willingness to travel at least 75% of the time

Responsibilities

• Conduct software product and technology due diligence assessments for PE clients
• Assess product features, architecture, IP and open-source usage
• Evaluate R&D organization/processes and software lifecycle
• Analyze R&D OpEx and CapEx, hosting infrastructure
• Prepare client-ready exhibits and deliverables and manage day-to-day relationships
• Supervise and mentor junior staff
