Job summary

Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS) is seeking a Robotics Club Teen Assistant to help facilitate and coordinate weekly tech programming in East Boston. The role supports a 1x/week Wednesday Robotics club, mentoring youth and helping with setup, facilitation, and outreach.

The position is part-time and seasonal, with shifts during office hours (Mon–Fri, 11am–7pm) and occasional Saturday opportunities, ending December 23, 2026.

This is a part-time, 6-8 hour/week position.

Schedule: Office hours are Monday-Friday from 11am-7pm and shifts will take place within these windows plus occassionalSaturday shift opportunities

Compensation: $15-17 per hour

Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS) is a multi-service organization in the heart of the Maverick Landing housing development in East Boston. Our mission is to build a faircommunity by uplifting and supporting families, promoting community health, and nurturing resident and youth leadership & creativity.We do this by offering wrap around resident services, adult education classes such as ESOL and digital literacy, robust youth and family programming, weekly food distributions, and housing advocacy and support.

Our team is looking to hire a Robotics Club Teen Assistant to assist in program facilitation andcoordination in our weekly tech programming.

This role will work alongside MLCS’ MMPRO & Creative Tech to facilitate a 1x/week Wednesday club that focuses on gaining hands-on coding and technical experience. The RoboticsClub Teen Assistant will act as a trusted peer mentor to youth participants, supporting group set-up and clean-up, facilitation, and outreach, as well as other program deliverables. MLCS’sS.T.E.A.M programming acts as an opportunity for community members to create a space where young people can come to learn new skills, work on long term creative projects, and nurture a creative community.

This role will use work to help lead a team of teen participants to use coding to build robots. The Robotics Club Teen Assistant should be interested in developing or strengthening their coding skills. This role comes with the opportunity to learn. The Robotics Club Teen Assistant will have access to a wide array of technologies like laser printers, Risograph printers and 3D printingmachines to create creative projects with the community. The Robotics Club team will occasionally collaborate with other youth teams on larger events and celebrations

The Robotics Club Teen Assistant will report to our Youth Programs Coordinator and will work alongside and receive supervision from MLCS MMPRO Studios Lead

Responsibilities:

• Attending team huddles and setting goals for the week.
• Working with the MLCS’s MMPRO Studios Lead to identify relevant weekly themes and preparing lessons.
• Supporting facilitation of weekly Robotics club on Wednesdays.
• Outreach and representation on behalf of MLCS youth programming and Robotic and STEM based Workshops.
