Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) in San Jose, CA. You will safeguard clients across various industries, perform routine patrols, support access control and badge processes, and document security-related information using computer or tablet systems.

This full-time role involves monitoring access, responding to incidents, and producing incident and activity reports. A background check and drug screen are standard parts of the hiring process, with licensing preferred

Qualifications

• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology and semiconductor manufacturing location by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, laboratories, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as directed, and maintain visitor and contractor entry records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting observations.
• Complete required activity reports, incident reports, and shift communications while supporting security-related operations at the location.
