Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown PC in New York City is seeking a Tech Audit Senior to lead audit, review or compilation engagements and supervise staff. The role will be based in NYC or East Brunswick, NJ and requires strong technical accounting skills and CPA licensure.

You will oversee planning, staffing, risk assessment, fieldwork and financial reporting while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with managers and partners to resolve client issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• Licensed CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification.
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience.
• Experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Familiarity with US GAAP given engagement complexity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team staff on planning and execution of audits, reviews or compilations.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing to financial reporting.
• Provide supervision and support to staff; communicate with engagement manager and partner.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client issue resolutions and regulatory matters.
• Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently to meet client deadlines.
• Create and track engagement budgets and promote efficiency.
• Provide coaching and participate in professional development activities.
