Job summary

Tiara Yachts is seeking a Team Leader to support the Group Leader in driving team improvements and addressing needs, problems, and resolutions. The role requires dependable leadership, a quality-oriented mindset, and multi-tasking ability.

You will oversee daily production, assign duties, monitor quality, and ensure compliance with work instructions. Strong reading of units and basic computer skills are essential, along with fluency in English.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in the specified field.
• Must be fluent in the English language and able to pass background, drug test, and physical.

Responsibilities

• Enable processes and team members to achieve objectives including safety, quality, cost, improvement, teamwork, and morale.
• Provide real-time support to team members, solve problems, and implement process improvements (kaizen).
• Ensure production operates according to Tiara Yachts work instructions and read/write units of measure.
• Assign work to the team to meet daily production requirements and aid planning/scheduling.
• Monitor team performance and ensure quality standards are met.
• Train team members on standardized work and pull systems; rebalance work as demand changes.

Job Details: Job Location: 001 Holland - Holland, MI 49423, Position Type: Full Time, Job Shift: 1st, Position Summary: The Team Leader supports the Group Leader on team improvement activities and provides input and assistance on team needs, problems, and resolutions. We are looking for a dependable, personable individual who has an eye for quality, management experience, and the ability to multi-task.

Job Responsibilities:

• Enable processes and team members to achieve operational objectives including safety, quality, cost, improvement, teamwork, and morale.
• Achieve results by providing real-time response and support to team members, problem-solving, and implementing kaizen of processes.
• With minimal supervision, ensure production is operating according to units per specifications prescribed on the Tiara Yachts work instructions.
• Assign work to the team to ensure completion of daily production requirements.
• Assist the Group Leader in planning and scheduling the department's work.
• Monitor the team's work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Must be able to read and understand units of measure.
• Communicate current product, process, or material constraints or issues to the team leader.
• Must be accustomed to physical tasks for long periods of time, including standing, kneeling, lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, using hands, and working with various materials.
• Must have basic computer knowledge and basic math skills.
• Able to fill in for absenteeism, rotation, etc.
• Maintain visual management and kaizen tools (SW, Charts, A3s).
• Train team members in the zone on standardized work, pull systems, etc., using standardized work as demand changes.
• Rebalance and standardize work as demand changes.
• Provide input to the Group Leader for employee performance evaluations.
• Provide leadership for Continuous Improvement activities.
• Assist with training team members to develop job knowledge and improve performance when asked.
• Coach team members in areas of quality, safety, housekeeping, schedule, productivity, and team behavior.
• Maintain daily labor tracking records and other required production records.
• Promote an upbeat attitude.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Group Leader and/or Department Manager.

Qualifications: Education and Experience:

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in the specified field.
