Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Illinois is hiring for a store leadership role that plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations across departments.

You will mentor and coach staff, implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs and maintaining standards. The position emphasizes staffing, development, and accountability for promotions, with a focus on training and safety, and strong emphasis on delivering exceptional customer experiences

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store helpful.
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide direction.
• Conflict resolution and root-cause problem solving.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Ability to mentor team members and lead safety practices.
• Experience mentoring hourly team members and SDITs.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes development by providing career paths and promotion input.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and controlling shrink.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Promote the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed service and sales goals.
• Ensure teams are trained and have completed required training.
• Spend most time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.
