Job description

Logoplaste is currently seeking to recruit a Team Leader to join the plant team in Wilkes-Barre, PA (USA).

Reporting to: Production Manager

The Team Lead is responsible for supporting the operation and assigned department(s), coordinating activities within their scope of control, and setting priorities to achieve business goals. This is a "hands-on" role, and the Team Lead may be asked to perform duties of an operator or forklift driver.

Key Tasks & Activities
  1. Support the direction set forth by the manager.
  2. Provide a safe environment for all production employees, visitors, and temporary labor.
  3. Ensure all employees receive regular safety training in accordance with the safety training program.
  4. Ensure all employees and visitors wear PPE and safety equipment.
  5. Monitor the production floor and equipment for unsafe or hazardous conditions, report immediately, and make appropriate corrections.
  6. Ensure immediate medical attention for accidents and perform accident investigations promptly.
  7. Maintain product quality by ensuring employees complete quality checks and products meet specifications.
  8. Train employees to identify products for rejection or rework.
  9. Communicate non-conforming products to appropriate managers for disposition.
  10. Maintain cleanliness of the production floor and equipment, perform daily audits, and ensure compliance with cleaning schedules.
  11. Achieve maximum production efficiency on all scheduled machines.
  12. Monitor machine processes, justify changes, and record adjustments.
  13. Monitor production efficiencies and make adjustments to meet/exceed OEE standards.
  14. Perform shift inventories and record daily production and downtime.
  15. Address inefficiencies proactively and communicate with maintenance.
  16. Enforce company policies and procedures among shift personnel.
  17. Manage employee relations, attendance, and records.
  18. Handle employee scheduling, vacation requests, and disciplinary actions with HR support.
  19. Conduct regular shift meetings and document discussions.
  20. Participate in TPM events and continuous improvement initiatives.
  21. Assist with product trials, mold changes, and setups.
  22. Provide input for performance evaluations and corrective actions.
  23. Optimize losses and unforeseen stoppages.
  24. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Who we are looking for...
Background and Experience
  • At least 1+ years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Industry experience preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Strong mechanical knowledge preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems.
  • Knowledge of quality systems.
Interpersonal Skills
  • Effective team coordination and supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Meeting deadlines, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and driving results.
  • Strong sense of urgency, accountability, self-motivation, and focus on business improvement.
