Job summary

Avivo’s Village Central Minnesota in St. Cloud is launching a brand-new program this Fall 2026. As a Team Lead, Resident Advocates, you’ll help launch the program, lead front-line staff, conduct resident intakes, and create a welcoming environment where residents work toward housing stability.

This overnight role (10:00 PM–6:30 AM) is part of a 32-hour full-time schedule with comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow within Avivo’s Housing First, Wellness & Safety approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years direct housing/homelessness or related services experience.
• Minimum of one year leadership/mentoring/supervision experience.
• Experience with homelessness, mental health, or addiction challenges.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, or Wellness & Safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide work direction to Resident Advocates during shifts.
• Coach, train, and support staff fostering accountability and teamwork.
• Conduct resident intakes and complete eligibility/admission paperwork.
• Maintain safe, welcoming, and person-centered environment for residents and staff.
• Handle crises using de-escalation and problem-solving skills.
• Support admissions, transitions, and day-to-day shelter operations.
• Maintain participant records, housing documentation, and reporting.
• Collaborate with leadership and partners to improve outcomes.
• Support Housing First and Wellness/Safety practices throughout the program.
• Monitor operations and identify opportunities to strengthen services.

As a Team Lead, Resident Advocates, you'll help launch a brand-new program, lead and support front-line staff, conduct resident intakes, and create a safe, welcoming environment where residents can work toward housing stability and long-term success.

Schedule Requirement

This position is scheduled to work 3rd Shift (10:00 PM-6:30 AM) on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Applicants must be able to work this schedule.

What You'll Do

• Lead and provide work direction to Resident Advocates during assigned shifts
• Coach, train, and support staff while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence
• Conduct resident intakes, complete eligibility and admission paperwork, and help create a welcoming experience for new residents
• Ensure a safe, welcoming, and person-centered environment for residents and staff
• Respond to participant concerns, emergencies, and crisis situations using de-escalation and problem-solving skills
• Support admissions, participant transitions, and day-to-day shelter operations
• Maintain accurate participant records, housing documentation, and reporting requirements
• Collaborate with program leadership and community partners to support positive participant outcomes
• Support Housing First, Wellness & Safety, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care practices throughout the program
• Monitor program operations and identify opportunities to strengthen services, quality, and participant outcomes

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of three years of experience providing direct services in housing, homelessness services, behavioral health, human services, or a related field
• Minimum of one year of formal or informal leadership experience, including team lead experience, mentoring, coaching, supervision of interns or volunteers, or similar responsibilities
• Experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or other complex barriers
• Experience providing or supporting culturally responsive, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, or Wellness & Safety-focused services
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during crisis situations
• Experience using electronic health records and documentation systems
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Commitment to Housing First, Wellness & Safety, and person-centered services
• Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation
