Job summary

MCC Label is seeking a Finishing Department Lead for 1st shift in Chesapeake, VA. You will oversee critical finishing operations, drive quality, and lead a small team to ensure on-time production.

The role focuses on quality checks, process integrity, equipment supervision, and data recording in Radius. Candidates should have supervisory experience and a solid understanding of printing processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience or knowledge of lithographic, flexographic, or digital printing preferred.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally, the employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversees timekeeping, attendance, performance reviews, training, and development.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
• Perform Finishing Operator duties: check print and seam quality; remove defective material and splice the roll web per specification; use ruler, safety knife, and hole punch as needed; handle rolls and palletize to avoid damage; understand basic print/seam defects; record data in Radius and on designated paperwork.

We are currently looking for a Finishing Department Lead to join our team. This is a 1st Shift position.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees timekeeping, attendance, performance reviews, training, and development
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
• Ability to perform Finishing Operator duties:
  • Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
  • Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification.
  • Utilizes a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).
  • Handles rolls and palletizes them accordingly as to not cause damage to them.
  • Must understand basic printing and seam related defects.
  • Recording and entering data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system (Radius)

• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience or in-depth knowledge of lithographic, flexographic, or digital printing preferred
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally, employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous eye concentration.
