Job summary

MCC Label is seeking a Finishing Machine Operator for the 2nd shift in Chesapeake, VA. You will monitor print and seam quality, splice rolls, and document results, contributing to efficient production and quality control.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Check print and seam quality continuously.
• Remove defective material and splice rolls per spec.
• Use ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing.
• Handle rolls and palletize to prevent damage.
• Understand basic printing and seam defects.
• Record data on paperwork and Radius system.
• Participate in special projects and other duties.

We are currently looking for a Finishing Machine Operator to join our team.

• Compensation: $18.00-$21.00 (based on skill level, specific abilities, and years of industry-specific experience) + $.50 shift differential + $1,000 sign on bonus

Responsibilities:

• Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
• Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification.
• Utilizes a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).
• Handles rolls and palletizes them accordingly as to not cause damage to them.
• Must understand basic printing and seam related defects.
• Recording and entering data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system (Radius)
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

• Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience or in-depth knowledge of lithographic, flexographic, or digital printing preferred
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous eye concentration.
