Job summary

BlackFish Federal is seeking a Team Lead for Material Handlers to support the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The role combines team leadership with hands-on Material Handler duties in a warehouse setting. Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of related experience, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to lift 30–50 lbs and climb ladders.

U.S. citizenship and a high school diploma or GED are required.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years of directly related experience working at NARA or similar work environment.
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of Team Lead responsibilities.
• Must demonstrate professional Leadership skills by motivating, guiding and inspiring others, delegating tasks effectively and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Must be comfortable with leading a team of 10-12 employees.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• Ability to perform in a labor-intensive environment.
• Must be able to lift boxes up to 30-50 lbs regularly.
• Must be able to climb ladders to reach shelving up to 15 feet high.
• Pass a drug screen and a background check.
• This contract requires U.S. citizenship.
• Must have high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Meet with the client or client point-of-contact to discuss logistics as necessary.
• Monitor work for accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency; work with Government personnel to ensure on-time delivery.
• Monitor personnel to ensure conduct per Standards of Conduct, security requirements.
• Serve as liaison between personnel and client; escalate issues to COR/Project Manager as appropriate.
• Ensure all personnel sign in/out daily; verify weekly totals.
• Remain on site during work performance with limited exceptions.
• Assist training of personnel by learning work processes and procedures.
• Ensure labor tasks are completed within production standards.
• Perform Material Handler tasks: locate containers, verify pull lists, move records, palletize, load, etc.
• Audit folders and finalize batch handling; sign-in completed batches with timestamps.
• Prepare documents for scanning; verify order and image clarity; rescan as needed.
• Use handheld devices to input data and verify daily totals.
