Job summary

BlackFish Federal seeks a Material Handler to operate in a warehouse and records storage environment for the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). You will sort, retrieve and file records, supporting secure, compliant workflows.

Candidates must lift 30–50 lbs regularly, climb ladders to shelves up to 15 feet, and pass a background check and possible drug screen. A high school diploma or GED is required, with full benefits included.

Responsibilities

• Locate containers or folders on shelving using pull lists or reports.
• Remove containers, verify accuracy, and report discrepancies.
• Place containers on streamliners with proper orientation and labeling.
• Move records to disposal review area as needed.
• Palletize, label, shrink wrap, and transport containers for disposal or relocation.
• Retrieve batched requests and sign out batches in logs.
• Search reference requests and pull files, marking status as Not-in-File or Charged-Out.
• Prepare documents for scanning and verify image quality; rescan if needed.
• Use handheld devices to perform basic data entry and assist with box list creation.
