Job summary

BlackFish Federal LLC is seeking a Material Handler to operate in a warehouse environment, sorting, retrieving and filing records for our customer, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The role includes a broad benefits package and a $19.41 hourly pay rate with health and welfare funds contributed to benefits.

Key duties involve locating and moving records, verifying pull lists, preparing documents for scanning, and data-entry using handheld devices.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform in a labor-intensive environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift boxes up to 30–50 lbs regularly.
• Must be able to climb ladders to reach shelving up to 15 feet high.
• May be required to successfully complete a drug screen.
• Have the ability to pass a background check and receive a government security clearance.
• This contract requires that all candidates are U.S. citizens.
• Possess high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Locate containers or folders on shelving using pull lists or reports; shelves may be up to 15' high.
• Remove containers, verify pull list accuracy, and report discrepancies.
• Place containers or folders on streamliners with numbers visible.
• Move records to the Designated Disposal Review Area.
• Palletize disposable records, label, stack, and shrink wrap.
• Confirm space requirements and transport records to the designated location; shelve non-disposable records after validation.
• Retrieve batched requests and sign-out batches in the logbook.
• Locate requested files, pull and mark them; report Not-in-File or Charged-Out as needed.
• Retrieve documents for scanning; prepare for scanning and verify image quality; rescan as needed.
• Use handheld devices to perform basic data entry, assist with box list creation, verify data, and record daily totals.
