Potbelly Sandwich Works in Plano, TX is seeking an Assistant Manager to co-lead the shop with a focus on delivering a welcoming, high-energy environment for both team and customers.

You will train and coach staff, schedule teams, and drive shop performance while upholding food safety standards and labor goals. The role requires 2+ years of leadership, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task in a busy kitchen.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• 2+ years management experience in restaurant or retail.
• Must pass Food Safety Certification.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and run an effective shift.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking.
• Able to stand/walk for 8-9 hours and work ~45 hours/week.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Illinois Applicants – must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach and develop Potbelly Associates and Shift Leaders.
• Effectively interview and recommend hiring of Associates, Certified Trainers and Shift Leaders.
• Develop and maintain a Good Vibes culture that fosters attraction & retention.
• Effectively schedule Associates, Certified Trainers and Shift Leaders.
• Update communication board with critical shop information.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings.
• Ensure all security procedures are followed.
• Ensure back-of-the-house procedural standards are met.
• Count drawers and follow cash handling procedures.
• Drive local marketing and promotions to maximize sales potential and recruitment.
