Newberry College invites applications for a full‑time Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning and Honors Program. The role shapes the College’s culture of teaching and learning with vision and leadership for a high‑impact Honors Program.

The successful candidate will lead pedagogy, faculty development, student engagement, and innovative undergraduate teaching across college programs, collaborating with academic affairs and enrollment management.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, higher education, or a related field; terminal degree preferred.
• Significant experience as an educator with expertise in pedagogy, teaching and learning, and faculty development.
• Experience with high‑impact educational practices, active learning, inclusive pedagogy, assessment, and instructional design.
• Experience leading academic programs or educational initiatives and recruiting high‑achieving undergraduates.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Center for Teaching and Learning.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, reflective teaching, collaboration, and student success.
• Develop initiatives addressing teaching and learning priorities across disciplines.
• Design and facilitate professional development workshops and consultations for faculty.
• Support inclusive, student-centered and academically rigorous learning experiences.
