Job summary

Northeastern University in Boston is seeking an Assistant Director of Honors Community Development to lead the Honors Living-Learning Community and develop student-driven programming. The role supports Orientation, Welcome Week, graduation recognition, and other initiatives while providing developmental advising to Honors students on course selection, academic support, and co-curricular opportunities.

Weekend and evening hours are required to support programming.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in higher education or related field; two years of higher education experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Computer skills; experience with Canvas or other Learning Management Systems desirable.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively.
  • Experience working with Residential Life/Housing including hiring and supervising student staff and creating high-impact student programming is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Selecting, training, and supervising 16 upperclass Honors students serving as LLC Assistants.
  • Supporting and consulting 16+ faculty/staff Honors LLC and Internal Admit Coordinators.
  • Planning and implementing annual LLC Fall and Spring Launch, PAWS points initiative, and LLC Showcase events.
  • Recruiting, selecting, training and supervising 8-12 student leaders to co-design and assess initiatives.
  • Coordinating and supporting student-led learning initiatives (HEIST).
  • Designing and implementing assessment instruments to track student outcomes over time.
  • Soliciting feedback, drafting and finalizing reports for submission.
  • Providing developmental advising and guidance to Honors students, with focus on assessment.
  • Collaborating with Honors team, campus, and community partners to realize Northeastern's Honors program vision.
  • Contributing to planning and implementation of first-year and upperclass Honors programming (HONR 1102, academic, community-building, leadership).
