Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and student-focused individual to join our supportive and growing team in Keele University's School of Computer Science and Mathematics. The School delivers high-quality education across computer science, data science, mathematics, and aligned specialist areas, with a strong commitment to helping students achieve their potential.

As a Teaching Fellow in Computer Science on the Education and Scholarship pathway, you will deliver engaging and inclusive teaching, support student learning, and contribute to the development of our programmes. Your responsibilities will include delivering lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions; developing learning materials and assessments; providing constructive feedback; and supervising student projects. You will also develop your teaching practice through scholarship and collaboration with colleagues.

Working with and supporting students will be central to your role. We are looking for someone who brings energy and encouragement to the classroom, enjoys making challenging concepts accessible, and takes an active interest in students' progress. Through teaching, personal tutoring, and academic guidance, you will help students build confidence, overcome challenges, and develop the skills they need to succeed. You will contribute to a welcoming learning environment where students from all backgrounds feel included, supported, and comfortable asking questions.

You will have strong subject knowledge in Computer Science and experience of teaching or supporting learning in higher education. You will bring excellent communication and organisational skills, an approachable and patient manner, and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues. Above all, you will have a clear enthusiasm for computer science education and find real satisfaction in helping students learn, grow, and discover what they are capable of.
