Job summary

Coast and Vale Learning Trust is seeking a part-time Year 6 support teacher to join the Year 6 team. You will help pupils in English, mathematics and reasoning as they prepare for 11+ examinations and senior school entrance assessments.

The role involves classroom support and targeted interventions, working with small groups and individuals to reinforce learning, while offering encouragement and pastoral help.

Job description

Year 6 is an exciting time in a child's development, bringing opportunities for increased independence, academic challenge and preparation for senior school. Working closely with the Year 6 teaching team, you will play an important role in helping pupils navigate this transition with confidence and success. The role will involve supporting children both within the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping them develop key skills in English, mathematics and reasoning as they prepare for 11+ examinations, senior school entrance assessments and interviews.

The successful candidate will have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2, and will be confident supporting learning across the curriculum. You will be able to build positive relationships with pupils and provide encouragement, reassurance and challenge where appropriate. An understanding of the academic demands associated with 11+ preparation would be beneficial, as would the ability to work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and boost confidence.
