Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Lampe UNC - NCSU Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering stresses the application of science and engineering, mathematical analysis, and computer techniques to biomedical problems. The research and entrepreneurship of the faculty, students, and staff aim to accumulate, generate, and disseminate biomedical engineering knowledge to improve health care for the benefit of the people of North Carolina, the nation, and the world.
Position Summary
The Lampe UNC /NC State Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering is seeking applicants for a Teaching Assistant / Associate Professor in any area related to department specializations with priority given to bioinstrumentation, biomechanics and biologics-based design. This is a professional track faculty position with a focus on teaching and education. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
This position will conduct service in areas of need. This may include mentoring junior faculty, mentoring students or student organizations, developing study abroad programs, participating in assessment activities, curriculum development and/or academic advising.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD in Biomedical Engineering, or related field. For an Associate level, a minimum of six consecutive years of full-time service as a Teaching Assistant Professor (or equivalent) along with documented evidence of distinguished teaching and service is required.
