About the Department

The mission of the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering is to provide leadership through educational programs and experiences that prepare engineers and scientists to meet biomedical challenges. The department aims to advance biomedical engineering knowledge to improve health care locally and globally.

Essential Job Duties
  • Delivery of lectures that cover the course objectives as stated on the course syllabus following the university calendar.
  • Assessment of student performance including exams, projects, laboratory assignments, and homework as outlined on the syllabus.
  • If the course contains a lab, overseeing the laboratory component to include:
    • Successful completion of student objectives
    • Appropriate safety measures
    • Meaningful content of lab exercises
    • Coordination of lab with lecture
  • Other responsibilities related to teaching the course, including grading exams, papers, and projects in a timely manner and providing help to students during office hours.
  • If a teaching assistant is provided, supervise the teaching assistant and coordinate assignments without exceeding the workload.
Other Responsibilities

Other related duties as assigned.
