About JFLC

Jordan Family Learning Center is a licensed program in Mt. Airy / Germantown where aides keep rooms calm and covered so lead teachers can protect ratios and give every child steady attention.

Role

Teacher’s Aide (support staff). You assist classrooms under required supervision so lead teachers can keep ratios, routines, and learning on track. This is an always-hiring support lane for coverage across ages as assigned.

What you will do

  • Support active supervision: see, hear, and stay engaged with assigned children

  • Follow room routines, transitions, meals, rest, outdoor play, and cleanup

  • Help prepare materials and keep the room ready and organized

  • Model calm, respectful guidance — no harsh discipline

  • Report concerns immediately to the supervising teacher or Director

  • Follow JFLC health, hygiene, confidentiality, and phone/photo rules

Requirements

  • Must meet age and qualification rules for an aide / support role under PA child-care regulations and JFLC policy (typically 18+ for licensed facility persons; confirm at hire)

  • Comfortable with young children; reliable, on-time, and coachable

  • Able to work under direct supervision; aides are not left alone with a group when the role requires a higher-qualified staff person

  • Clearances and required health documentation before unsupervised child contact

  • High school diploma / GED preferred; prior child-care or classroom support experience a plus

  • Able to lift as needed for the age group, sit/stand for active play, and move with the group

Schedule

Part-time and coverage shifts available; exact hours depend on classroom need. Always-hiring — we fill strong candidates on a rolling basis.

Compensation

$16–20 per hour.

Clearances and onboarding (Staff Handbook v2.0)

Staff may not begin or continue child-care duties without required records for the role. Pennsylvania child-care background requirements may include Childcare Employee Listing, FBI fingerprinting, National Sex Offender Registry check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Certification, Pennsylvania State Police criminal history, and out-of-state checks when applicable. Clearances generally renew every 60 months or sooner when required. A provisionally hired person, when allowed by law, may not be alone with children and must stay in the immediate vicinity of a permanently qualified staff person until clearances are complete. Health assessment / TB screening, handbook acknowledgment, orientation, and role training are required as assigned. Mandated reporter duties apply.
