Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. is seeking a dependable Classroom Aide to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms in Hamlet, NC. You will assist teachers, supervise children, and help with daily activities, records, and family engagement as part of a collaborative team.

The starting rate is $14 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule, 6:45am-2:45pm or 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hours/week). UCCA offers benefits and growth opportunities in a rewarding community role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EDU 119 or CDA Credential preferred.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Start or grow your early childhood career while helping children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. UCCA is seeking a dependable Classroom Aide to assist teachers in Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms.

Physical Demands

Must be able to actively assist with classroom activities, supervise children in indoor and outdoor environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
