Teacher Assistant - Ventura County
To assist in the instruction and care of children and to provide adequate adult supervision. Under the direction of the Center Supervisor and the teachers to whom assigned, assists with instruction and instructor groups of children, follows lesson plans, and assists in assessing and documenting children’s development.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of six units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education required.
- Minimum of one year of classroom experience (paid or volunteer) in a preschool or childcare setting preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively to communicate clearly with others.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including low‑income families and individuals from various cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting children, families, and the community.
- Ability to assess situations and respond appropriately in a timely manner.
- Positive attitude and genuine interest in promoting the well‑being of children and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, maintain professional working relationships, and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
