The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is seeking an experienced Budget Analyst to support the Chief Budget & Efficiency Office. This role focuses on budget data analysis, forecasting, and ensuring proper financial controls within CAPPS and agency structures.
You will help plan projects, monitor funding, and develop procedures while collaborating with the Budget & Planning Division to promote efficiency and accountability across the agency.

This position is a member of our Budget and Planning Division.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major course work in business, public administration, or a related field, plus three years of full-time experience in a professional or technical capacity involving budget preparation or analysis.
OR Four years of full-time experience in auditing, accounting, budget preparation, financial management, or statistical analysis; or other responsible analytical or professional work that provided a knowledge of programs, budget procedures, budget execution, budgetary and financial relationships with workloads of organizational elements organizational structure, and work processes of the organization.
OR Registration as a Certified Public Accountant or a master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public affairs, business administration, public administration, or a related field may be substituted for one year of the experience.

Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Chief Budget & Efficiency Office.
This position requires 10% travel and otherwise full-time in-office scheduled at TCEQ Headquarters.
TCEQ will conduct a criminal history records search, driving history (if required for the job) on candidates offered employment.
