Job Summary

Following established guidelines, the technologist performs all transcranial doppler ultrasounds while modifying techniques as necessary to obtain the mosteci complete and accurate exam possible. The technologist is also responsible for training all vascular ultrasound technologists to competently and proficiently perform transcranial doppler exams according to established guidelines.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform transcranial Doppler ultrasounds on the inpatient floors efficiently and accurately.
• Follow all documented protocols, including transcranial Doppler ultrasound flow studies.
• Identify all vessels of the Circle of Willis and extracranial feeding vessels based on insonवैtion window, depth, angle, and waveform morphology.
• Determine presence, absence and extent of disease; document images for the final report.
• Analyze results and provide preliminary reports to ordering providers,ця entering numeric values into patient charts.
• Develop a comprehensive TCD training program for all vascular ultrasound techs.
• Inspect and maintain equipment for quality control.
• Ensure quality, safety and infection control standards are followed at all times.
