Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Health is seeking a skilled TCD EEG Tech to perform transcranial Doppler ultrasound exams on inpatient floors, ensuring complete and accurate studies. You will train vascular ultrasound staff to perform TCDs competently and proficiently, identify vessels, and document images for physician review.

Responsibilities include analyzing results, entering data into charts, and developing a training program to maintain high quality standards and infection control compliance.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED

Responsibilities

• Perform transcranial Doppler ultrasounds on inpatient floors to obtain complete and accurate exams.
• Train all vascular ultrasound technologists to competently perform transcranial Doppler exams.
• Identify all Circle of Willis vessels and extracranial feeding vessels using insonation windows and depth.
• Document images and provide reading physicians with data for final reports.
• Analyze results and enter numeric values into patient charts for physician review.
• Develop a comprehensive TCD training program for vascular ultrasound staff.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Following established guidelines, technologist performs all transcranial doppler ultrasounds while modifying the techniques as necessary to get the most complete and accurate exam possible. Technologist is also responsible for training all vascular ultrasound technologists to competently and proficiently perform transcranial doppler exams according to established guidelines.

Performs transcranial Doppler ultrasounds on the inpatient floors efficiently and accurately and follows all documented protocols to include: Transcranial Doppler ultrasound flow studies. Able to identify all vessels of the Circle of Willis and extracranial feeding vessels based on insonation window, depth, angle of insonation, and waveform morphology. Determines the absence, presence and extent of disease Determines areas of interest and documents images to provide the reading physician with information for the final report. Responsible for analyzing results and giving preliminary reports to the ordering providers and entering numeric values into the patient charts for physician review. Develops a comprehensive TCD training program for all vascular ultrasound techs Inspects and maintains equipment for quality control. Ensures quality, safety and infection control standards are followed at all times.
