Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a physician to perform Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) C&P examinations and to review veterans’ records for accurate VA documentation. This role does not involve prescribing, treatment planning, or ongoing patient management.

You will assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals, complete VA DBQs, and prepare detailed medical reports while ensuring HIPAA compliance and timely submission of evaluations.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with medical licensure in the United States.
• Board certification in Neurology, Psychiatry, or PM&R is required.
• Active, unrestricted license in the practicing state.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.
