Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Tax Manager in Core Tax Services to advise clients on tax implications of business objectives, evaluate actions to reduce tax burden, and ensure compliance. The role includes leading tax compliance, research, and consulting efforts, with responsibility for supervising junior staff and maintaining strong client relationships.

The Manager will communicate complex tax issues, apply ASC 740 and related standards, and contribute to business development within the practice area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required or preferred.
• Masters in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
• Five or more years of prior relevant tax experience.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advises clients on tax implications of business objectives and potential actions to lessen tax burden and compliance costs.
• Reviews and guides tax return preparation and tax accrual processes (ASC 740, FAS 109, FIN 48) with senior staff and specialists as needed.
• Manages client relationships and expectations in accordance with project scope and budget.
• Leads tax consulting efforts to maximize client benefits and reduce taxes for current and future periods.
• Develops and communicates tax strategy, policies, and planning ideas to clients.
• Supervises associates and senior associates, provides feedback and training on tax software and processes.

Education
