Job description

We are actively hiring for a newly created Tax Senior Associate / Tax Senior Accountant position for our growing CPA firm client, with whom we have a longstanding, excellent relationship. The firm has a laid-back culture, working mostly four days per week after the busy tax season. You will report directly to the firm's Tax Manager and mentor, review, and oversee all tax preparation work of the Tax Staff & Associates (10-15). Currently, they have remote employees.

The firm is a leading Washington-based accounting and consulting firm established in 1954, offering a broad spectrum of tax and advisory services. They are seeking a career-minded TAX Manager with over four years of public accounting experience. There are immediate opportunities for partnership, growth, and development within the firm. They conduct promotions and raises twice a year. Tax Seniors may work fully remotely; otherwise, they have four offices in eastern Washington with a work-from-home option. Competitive compensation, relocation assistance, bonuses, and benefits are available. During the summer months, Fridays off are provided.

This firm has experienced significant growth, doubling its revenue in the last eight years. The open position is due to this growth. They value career-minded individuals. With offices across Eastern Washington and a one-firm approach, employees have the opportunity to work with professionals ranging from 1 to 40 years of experience. Since 1954, they have maintained high client retention and growth rates. Their client work is seasonal, with peak tax work from January to April, and the rest of the year focused on succession and tax planning.

Responsibilities for the Tax Senior Associate / Tax Accountant
  1. Report directly to the Firm's Tax Manager.
  2. Review the work of all Tax Staff & Associates.
  3. Manage project deadlines and plan appropriately with team members.
  4. Coordinate with team members on all phases of tax engagements.
  5. Review individual and business tax returns, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  6. Stay current on tax law changes and accounting developments.
  7. Work with team members to improve processes continually.
  8. Participate in practice development and firm activities.
Qualifications for the Tax Senior Associate / Tax Accountant
  1. CPA certification or in progress; the firm covers 100% of study materials and exam costs.
  2. At least 2 years of public accounting experience preparing and reviewing individual and business taxes.
