Novogradac, a national CPA and consulting firm, seeks a Tax Manager to oversee tax engagements and mentor staff while developing client relationships and firm profitability.

The role emphasizes independent problem solving, supervision of staff, and opportunities to work with Principals and Partners to pursue new clients. Remote or hybrid arrangements may be available depending on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; 3–7+ years public accounting experience.
• CPA license required.
• Strong understanding of accounting and tax rules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and mentor staff.
• Willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagements from planning to completion with minimal supervision.
• Conduct engagement reviews and ensure quality outputs.
• Mentor and supervise staff, guiding technical development.
• Perform annual performance evaluations and manage staff performance discussions.
• Assist Principals with identifying and pursuing new clients.
• Develop high value-added opportunities from technical knowledge for clients.
• Promote the firm’s image through panels, publications, and recruiting events.
• Foster strong relationships with Partners, employees, clients, and prospects.
