Distinct | North America is a South Florida CPA firm seeking a Tax Manager to lead high‑level tax work and client relationships. The role emphasizes real estate, M&A and international tax planning while preparing for a potential Partnership.
You'll gradually take over the retiring partner's portfolio, with the possibility to become a partner in 3–4 years. Flexible hours and long‑term remote work options are discussed, with an initial in‑office focus to build client trust.
Tax Manager | South Florida | $130k to $160k
Last year I helped a Tax Senior join this CPA firm. They're still there, still loving it, and one of the biggest reasons is the flexibility.
Flexible working hours, plenty of freedom to work from home and Partners who genuinely care about the people working for them.
And now there's a rather interesting opportunity for someone more senior.
They are a small, established firm in South Florida, with excellent staff retention, and a Partner who's planning to retire within the 3-4 years.
They're looking for someone who can gradually inherit their clients, help grow the practice and potentially step into Partnership themselves.
But they're not looking for someone who just wants to manage people and delegate work.
They want someone technically strong who still enjoys getting stuck into complex Tax work, particularly Partnerships, Real Estate, M&A and tax planning.
Someone who enjoys sitting down with clients, building genuine relationships and becoming the person those clients trust for advice.
There's plenty of flexibility too. Initially, you'll spend more time in the office getting to know the team and clients, but longer term, there's potential to work remotely up to 80% of the time.
The Partners are ambitious, open to new ideas and keen to embrace technology and AI as the firm continues to grow.
And the Partnership opportunity? It's real.
You’ll have the retiring Partner's guidance as you gradually take over her portfolio, with the potential to become Partner within the next 3-4 years.
Although if Partnership isn't your ambition, they’re equally interested in someone who wants to become a long term part of the business.
If you’re looking for a smaller firm where you’ll be trusted, looked after and have a genuine say in what happens next, this is worth a conversation.
Strong technical Tax experience across complex Individual, S Corporation and Partnership returns, with particular expertise in Real Estate, M&A transactions, purchase price allocations and international tax matters is required.
