Job summary

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York seeks a Knowledge Management Lawyer (Tax) to lead the Tax Practice Group’s knowledge strategy, applying tax expertise, KM best practices, and AI-enabled tools to enhance knowledge capture and the efficiency of the firm’s advice across private equity, M&A, real estate, and capital markets matters.

You will collaborate with KM, analytics, and practice teams to pilot technologies, publish client alerts, develop resources, dashboards, and trainings, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of Tax experience in a large law firm.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant legal practices and documents.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with strong customer service and responsiveness.
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to solve problems in collaborative, multi-department settings.
• Prior publication experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement knowledge strategies for the Tax Practice Group.
• Collaborate with other departments to pilot legal tech and AI applications.
• Monitor tax developments and publish client alerts and articles.
• Create and maintain resources, templates, precedents, and dashboards.
• Support AI-enabled workflows and provide hands-on tool assistance.
• Assist with RFPs, pitches, and client engagement materials.
• Mentor associates and provide knowledge training.
