Job summary

Cleary Gottlieb is seeking a Tax Practice Development Lawyer to maintain the Tax group’s knowledge resources, support AI-enabled workflows, and drive attorney development. The role involves coordinating training, legal technology adoption, and thought leadership within a premier US Tax practice in New York.

The ideal candidate has NY Bar admission, strong US tax law expertise, and a collaborative approach to training, business development, and practice support.

Qualifications

• Admission in good standing to the New York State Bar.
• Strong knowledge of US tax law and the work of a sophisticated US Tax practice.
• Interest in knowledge management, legal technology, AI-enabled workflows, training, and attorney development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative, service-oriented approach and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Tax group’s library of forms, annotated models, precedents, checklists, research resources, practice guides, and other work tools.
• Monitor federal, state, and international tax developments and draft client alerts and updates.
• Co-lead Tax group training and support associate development and onboarding initiatives.
• Collaborate with Business Development to support pitches, client materials, and conference content.
• Act as a liaison between the Tax group and the firm’s Professional Staff teams.
