Job summary

Bay City Brewing Co PL is seeking an experienced Tasting Room Manager in San Diego to lead daily operations, staff scheduling, and guest service excellence. You will oversee opening/closing, vendor coordination, and events to create memorable craft beer experiences for Pechanga attendees and the local community.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a similar role, strong leadership, and a passion for craft beer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a tasting room, bar, or restaurant management role.
• Experience with beer tending and tipped shifts.
• Cicerone certification preferred; strong knowledge of craft beer trends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily tasting room operations and ensure a welcoming environment.
• Manage and schedule staff for optimal coverage and service.
• Open/close venue and coordinate with Pechanga Event crowds.
• Book and coordinate with food vendors.
• Train and mentor team to maintain hospitality standards and product knowledge.
• Monitor inventory and liaise with brewing team to keep offerings fresh.
• Handle guest inquiries and feedback professionally.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and alcohol service regulations.

Bay City Brewing Co Point Loma, located adjacent to Pechanga Arena, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Tasting Room Manager to lead our team and ensure our tasting room is the go-to destination for craft beer lovers and Pechanga attendees. What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

As the Tasting Room Manager, you’ll play a vital role in delivering an exceptional experience to every guest who walks through our doors. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the daily operations of the tasting room to ensure smooth service and a welcoming environment.
• Managing and scheduling staff to ensure optimal coverage and top-notch customer service.
• Opening and closing the venue and overseeing Pechanga Event crowds
• Booking and working with food vendors
• Training and mentoring team members to uphold our high standards of hospitality and product knowledge.
• Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with the brewing team to keep our offerings fresh and exciting.
• Handling customer inquiries, feedback, and concerns with professionalism and care.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and alcohol service regulations.
• Collaborating with the marketing team to plan and execute events that enhance the tasting room experience.
• Liaison to the community including hosting events at the tasting room.

What We’re Looking For: Skills and Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, such as managing a tasting room, bar, or restaurant.
• Prior beer tending experience. Beer tending, tipped shifts are part of the Management position.
• Cicerone Certification preferred.
• RBS and Food Handler's certified.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both staff and guests.
• A solid understanding of craft beer, including styles, brewing processes, and trends.
• Exceptional organizational skills to juggle multiple responsibilities and maintain a high level of service.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on creating positive guest experiences.
