Beach Bum Tanning & Airbrush Salon in Patchogue, NY seeks Tanning Consultants to guide clients through tanning options, maintain a welcoming environment, and drive sales. This role emphasizes customer service, product knowledge, and accurate records while supporting daily salon operations.

We offer full-time and part-time positions with opportunities for advancement in a fun, fast-paced, customer-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 18 years or older and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in customer service or sales preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
• Evaluate client skin type and recommend tanning options.
• Explain tanning process clearly and address questions.
• Keep salons clean, organized, and stocked.
• Promote and sell lotions and retail products.
• Meet or exceed sales goals while delivering excellent service.

• Maintain accurate client records and tanning history.
• Open and close the salon per company standards.

In this position, you'll represent our brand, guide clients through their tanning options, and support them in achieving their ideal glow.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities may include:

• Welcoming clients and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere from the moment they arrive
• Evaluating skin types and recommending the most suitable tanning equipment, products, and safety guidelines
• Explaining the tanning process clearly, answering questions, and ensuring clients feel comfortable and informed
• Keeping tanning rooms and common areas clean, organized, and fully stocked
• Recommending and selling lotions and retail products based on client needs
• Consistently meeting or surpassing sales goals while maintaining excellent customer service
• Building strong client relationships and encouraging repeat visits
• Maintaining accurate client records, including preferences and tanning history
• Opening and closing the salon according to company standards

Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who are:

• Positive, outgoing, and passionate about the tanning and beauty industry
• High school graduates (or equivalent)
• At least 18 years old
• Strong communicators, both verbally and in writing
• Experienced in customer service or sales (preferred)
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Comfortable standing, bending, and being on their feet for extended periods

Experience

• Sales: 1 year
