Job summary

Beach Bum Tanning & Airbrush Salon in New Jersey is seeking friendly, motivated individuals for Tanning Consultant roles. You will guide clients through tanning options, represent our brand, and help customers achieve their ideal glow.

We value long-term growth and offer both full-time and part-time opportunities. The role emphasizes sales, outstanding customer service, and maintaining a positive, clean salon environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Sales or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Assess skin types and recommend tanning equipment, products, and safety tips.
• Explain tanning process clearly and answer questions.
• Keep treatment rooms and common areas clean and stocked.
• Recommend and sell lotions and retail products based on client needs.
• Hit or exceed sales goals while delivering great service.
• Build relationships to encourage repeat visits.
• Maintain accurate client records including preferences and history.
• Open and close salon according to company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities may include:

• Welcoming clients and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere from the moment they arrive
• Evaluating skin types and recommending the most suitable tanning equipment, products, and safety guidelines
• Explaining the tanning process clearly, answering questions, and ensuring clients feel comfortable and informed
• Keeping tanning rooms and common areas clean, organized, and fully stocked
• Recommending and selling lotions and retail products based on client needs
• Consistently meeting or surpassing sales goals while maintaining excellent customer service
• Building strong client relationships and encouraging repeat visits
• Maintaining accurate client records, including preferences and tanning history
• Opening and closing the salon according to company standards

Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who are:

• Positive, outgoing, and passionate about the tanning and beauty industry
• High school graduates (or equivalent)
• At least 18 years old
• Strong communicators, both verbally and in writing
• Experienced in customer service or sales (preferred)
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Comfortable standing, bending, and being on their feet for extended periods
