SRM Concrete is seeking a safety-focused Tanker Operator in Troy, NC to transport cement between terminals and SRM plants. You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, maintain logs per DOT, and communicate with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries.

Ideal candidates have a valid Class A CDL with at least 2 years tanker experience and a clean driving record in the last 5 years. The role offers local/regional routes and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL; Tanker endorsement helpful but not required.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
• Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transport.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform lifting/climbing tasks.
• Excellent time management to meet delivery schedules.
• Good communication with plant personnel and customers.
• Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
• Positive, go-getter attitude aligned with SRM’s 5 Principles of Service (Safety, Quality, Kindness, Cleanliness, Go-Getter).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck transporting cement from terminals to SRM plant locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections for safety and compliance.
• Complete and maintain logbooks and delivery paperwork per DOT requirements.
• Communicate with dispatch for delivery instructions and route updates.
• Ensure secure loading/unloading of cement with minimal spillage or contamination.
• Follow routes, schedules, and safety procedures for material transport.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery sites.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, or violations.
• Stay updated on safety regulations and company policies.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from terminals to various SRM Concrete plant locations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Accurately complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in line with company policies and DOT regulations.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide updates on route progress.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cement, preventing spillage or contamination.
• Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting materials.
• Provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites, representing SRM Concrete with professionalism.
• Promptly report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage.
• Stay current on safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

What Sets You Apart

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Tanker Endorsement is helpful, but not required.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
